The simplicity of shapes become defined when you open your mind to the possibilities. I am enjoying creating this new body of work, you can do it too, just don't think too much.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05473234128433916311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711605588592797362.post-21393986361255341782012-09-08T04:00:17.850-04:002012-09-08T04:00:17.850-04:00Informative Post Robin, This is a very very beauti...Informative Post Robin, This is a very very beautiful piece you created, I am still looking at it and thinking that it is a lot of planning for each of the patterns! Whenever I am traveling by flight, I keep creating this kind of art in my mind, never so far on canvas :-)padmajahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18297562916603110230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711605588592797362.post-91768498322493122532012-09-06T19:25:58.808-04:002012-09-06T19:25:58.808-04:00Thanks, Deborah! although I am not sure the depth ...Thanks, Deborah! although I am not sure the depth translates well online.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05473234128433916311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711605588592797362.post-51308392351090737732012-09-06T19:07:31.170-04:002012-09-06T19:07:31.170-04:00Love the shapes, Robin.Love the shapes, Robin.Deborah Younglao, Silk Painterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16061468237401282943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711605588592797362.post-60737070114433149082012-09-05T08:28:33.069-04:002012-09-05T08:28:33.069-04:00Yes, that microscopic view is one of the perspecti...Yes, that microscopic view is one of the perspectives these paintings can capture. Another way of viewing this piece is to think about if you were in air space looking down on earth, it's an abstract recognition of the land (at least that's what I was thinking about with this one). Primitive art brings us back to a simpler, more direct way of expression and story telling, and it's a reminder of where we came from.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05473234128433916311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711605588592797362.post-1897952393169917462012-09-05T06:07:21.986-04:002012-09-05T06:07:21.986-04:00I find that these abstract pieces remind me of mic...I find that these abstract pieces remind me of microscopic slides or super up close shots of something I might otherwise recognize. This piece reminds me of chrome for some reason. Always interesting to see your work, Robin. I love seeing the layers on the side of the clean edged piece too.Autumn Leaveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04010044052621228719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711605588592797362.post-33909556791908935042012-09-05T00:32:57.737-04:002012-09-05T00:32:57.737-04:00Beautiful work. Twenty years ago I bought a book at Logan airport and read it during the flight. It was short and about a woman traveling with an Aboroginal tribe--such a different perspective about life. One day , I'll come across the title and buy it again.hw (hallie) farberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11636182620056350811noreply@blogger.com
