"Full Frosty Moon", 22" x 30" watercolor
Saturday I am going to donate to the Marblehead Festival of Arts. Their auction donations help to finance the free summer festival over 4th of July weekend, I have always loved participating in the event. Both of the paintings below are older, and I am still not sure which will go to the summer festival, but the remaining piece will be donated to the Marian Court College annual fundraiser event.
"Sunburst Lilies", 24" x 18" watercolor diptych
"Upstream", 20" x 16" watercolor
My last bit of news is that I have found a consultant to help me with editing and hopefully the consultation will bring my book writing project to fruition.
Robin I just love Full Frost Moon, the sky especially. Whoever wins it at the auction will be lucky indeed.
ReplyDeleteSending you positive vibes for your book project!
Wow! I especially love the top piece and the bottom piece. Their subject and color harmonies just fit me to a "t"! With a bit of self-deprecating humor, I have to admit that no one has ever asked me to donate any of my art pieces. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deborah. I still offer hi res prints of the moon series, which is why I won't feel like the painting will be gone for ever. Thanks on the vibes.
ReplyDeleteSherry, it's impossible for local organizations to ask you for art donations if you have never shown your art outside of your home and the organizations looking for donations don't even you know exist. It may be time for you to join a local art association and start getting your work out there.
These are fortunate organizations, Robin. Beautiful works.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that it's full speed ahead on your book.
These are all lovely works. I remember seeing "Full Frosty Moon" on either your website or ArtScuttleButt (whatever happened to that site) a couple years ago and fell in love. Kudos for blessing others with your generosity.

Thanks, Hallie. Someone is definitely going to have bargain opportunities, I have a love hate relationship with art auctions!
ReplyDeleteDon, Art Scuttlebutt closed but only after they changed the entire layout of the website and totally confused me! I had stopped posting there when I started blogging here more regularly. They were Art Calendar magazine originally, now I get emails from Professional Artist magazine, do you get those emails too?
Yes, I still get the Professional Artist emails and the magazine. I tried to stay with ArtScuttleButt, but like you, I did not like their change. Then a few months ago, they suddenly disappeared. Many of my online friendships started from that earlier ArtScuttleButt incarnation, so it will always have a special place in my heart.

Robin, I understand how it feels to see your paintings sell for so much less than you would have sold them for, but the good out weights it all. The paintings are great and I'm sure they will go quickly. I am pleased to read that you are still writing your book and I think you are smart to hire a consultant. I am such a penny pinching control freak, that I didn't do that. The result was no book!
ReplyDeleteYou were one of my first art scuttlebutt-follow-to-blogger friends, Don! It's been a while since then and I have enjoyed following you on blogspot.
ReplyDeleteEva, the auction donations are good publicity, but it is sad to see how art patrons prefer to purchase a bargain. Next week I will hear from the book consultant, I am really looking forward to the professional feedback and I will be sure to keep you updated via my blog.
