"Great Dividing Range", 14 x 11 encaustic painting
Yesterday I was able to complete my demo painting from last Sunday's opening reception. I am looking forward to teaching the encaustic workshop this weekend and received wonderful press in the local papers.
One of the things I will miss most of all after I have relocated in Chicago next summer will be all of the publicity contacts and reporters I have met over the years. Last week I was interviewed and the online article was posted yesterday, the paper copy will be available tomorrow.

* Just received my paper copy and was pleasantly surprised that more of my work was pictured with the paper version of the article.
I hope you will make new contacts once you arrive here in Illinois, Robin. I suspect you probably will. Congratulations on the article!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sherry.
DeleteI absolutely love your "abstract pieces"! It's a wonderful series and Great Dividing Range is an excellent addition to it. Kudos on the great article. Thanks for sharing it.

Abstract is what has me ticking these days, Don. Can't wait to start the next piece in the series.
DeleteWhat a great article--smooth running motor--love it. I think you make it look easy to those of us on the outside looking on. Great Dividing Line is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder if rug patterns (Persian, Oriental, Native American, etc.)were inspired by imagining what the earth looked like from above. Maybe you have a connection to the source. Exciting.
I am totally intrigued by your observation that maybe rug patterns were inspired by a view of the earth from above. This thought will definitely inspire me tomorrow when I am teaching the first day of an encaustic workshop.
DeleteI love your encaustic painting and I agree with Hallie that you make it look easy. The mark of a true professional.
ReplyDeleteThe article is fabulous. I really enjoyed reading it and I bet once you get settled in Chicago- the great contacts will continue to build.
BRAVO Robin- BRAVO!!!
Thanks, Pam. It's starting to freak me out a bit, that I am making the move in the not so distant future. I sure hope I can continue to grow and connect with artists once I am living in the windy city. Time will tell.
