Vacationing in Jamaica

I had the best time learning how to snorkel off the Jamaican coast this past week, I am addicted. Now that I am rested and rejuvenated, I should be ready to start new work in the studio soon. In the meantime, I am thrilled to be sharing photos from my trip....  new inspiration for future paintings.

  2. I loved being under water, Katherine. Now if I can only re-create the experience with paints...

  3. Ah, the tough job of researching to "make art." Looks like a wonderful trip--must have been beautiful under water.

    1. I loved the feeling - quiet, weightless calm. Can't imagine how I can translate that with paints but I will just go with the flow.

    1. it may not be a new series, but more an extension of my "SEA" gallery on my website. I still need time to sit with the feeling, until I am ready to paint.

    1. I am still trying to imagine what I should do for a next painting, Nancy, leaning toward abstract.

    1. Sometimes a change of scenery is the best inspiration for my art making. Looking forward to translating it into paint.

  8. Hi Robin--I've been reading your previous posts, and have been meaning to tell you that the Chakra series blows me away. They're all so similar and unified, and yet are completely different from one another. Beautiful, unique expression of this. Wow that water is clear!

    1. Thank you for taking the time to read about the chakra paintings, William. I totally enjoyed learning as I created each painting.

The water was clear and warm in Jamaica, very unlike the New England coast where I live and a wonderful change of pace.
