A few days ago I posted my newest work. I hung the painting on a wall in my apartment and lived with it long enough to know I needed to add details in the foreground. I just reworked this piece and feel like it makes better sense now. Can you see the difference?
Yes , I can see what made the difference! True that when you hang a piece for a while and keep looking at it, new avenues open out and they will lead to a more finished piece. Beautiful work this one.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I always need "fresh eyes" to be certain if a work is finished. I agree and thanks, padmaja.
DeleteI love the texture in the vines, Robin! Is that what you changed? Eyes bothering me this a.m. so I'm not sure I see a difference! LOL Oh! Please know I wasn't criticizing your vision at all on my last comment. I was thinking that it would be pretty with just the dotted grapes colored but love the tonal version equally!
ReplyDeleteYes Sherry, the vines are more prominent in this final version. I decided to etch into the wax and draw more details, then I added oil pastel keeping true to a monochromatic palette but making lines pop. I appreciated your comment on the prior blogpost and it did help me with the change I made! Don't be so concerned when you post here, I take everyone's comments to heart and pick and choose wisely. ;)
