Honorable Mention
What an unexpected surprise... I found out when I arrived at the "Capturing Time" show reception that I was an award winner (there was a Best in Show award, and 2 Honorable Mentions). I almost didn't go to the opening because I have been consumed with the news out of Japan not to mention what's going on in Libya. With the world in such chaos, I am hoping art can continue to help all of us find a more peaceful way to exist.

ReplyDeleteI completely understand about feeling overwhelmed with emotion over world events. There is always such an onslaught of horribleness and lately, it feels even worse.

ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments, it was a PHOTOGRAPHY show, and that's why I was pleasantly surprised. I have focused on taking photographs because I use them in my encaustic image transfers... and definitely going to the opening was a distraction from current events.

ReplyDeleteI AM glad I went, Deborah, and Hallie. But I am sitting here listening to the day's news from Japan and such a tragedy makes me appreciate so much more than my little art world.
