It's been a couple days since I took out my paints because once we left Gaiole we moved to city locations (Siena and San Gimignano). I have seen amazing landscape vistas and will be anxious to paint on a larger scale when I get home. Tomorrow we move to Torrita di Siena with a possible art class in my near future! The hotel is a "Relais Residenza d'Arte" and it should be really interesting for me. In the meantime, I will share several photographs, there are no words...
Entering Siena -
Il Campo -
Duomo in Siena -
View from San Gimignano -
Piazza Cisterna -
Entering San Gimignano, a medieval walled city -
Rooftop view -
Another landscape view, I can't get enough!
What amazing views. The landscape view from San Gimignano could come straight from a Renaissance painting. Thanks for sharing. Um... can we paint them? :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! I'm in awe. Thanks for sharing these. I anticipate that you will find yourself back in your studio soon totally inspired! Until then, have fun!
ReplyDeleteFunny, the word verification for this comment is "trips". How fitting...

My compliments, Robin. Have much fun, and paint well from the heart.
ReplyDeleteI can only say WOW. I agree with Mark--that view from San Gimignano is unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteMark, it's fine with me if you want to paint one of these photos, I am going to definitely be painting from them too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Don. This trip has truly inspired my landscapes, and I have already tried to plan out how I will be painting the medieval cities.
Thank you, Casey. Will do!
Hallie, that view has changed since we got here.... from a bland yellow ochre color to a vibrant emerald and spring green. And the depth... all I can say again is WOW!
I don't have the time to follow everyone's blogs now but hope to play catch up once I am back home. Thanks for all your comments.
Absolutely amazing photos, Robin. That San Gimignano photo is stunning!
